- Business Development in Arusha
Our programme in Arusha offers volunteers the opportunity to give Business Support to the local community. Arusha is located in the north of Tanzania and is the fifth largest town of the country. Recently it has seen a rapid growth from tourism, industry and mining operations. These developments mean that there is a great deal of business conducted within the area.
We have been working with the Tanzania Capital Boosting Association (TCBA) since 2002.
Founded in 1999 by two local businessmen with experience in micro-credit schemes, TCBA set out their ideas as follows:
"Our mission is to build a sustainable programme within Tanzania providing credit and business training to entrepreneurs so as to create employment and stimulate economic growth in order to reduce poverty and hence improve people's standard of living"
We are helping construct training programmes to provide marketing and financial skills, as well as business planning skills. Recent developments have included the establishment of a small micro-credit fund thanks to a donation from a British company.
Volunteers’ tasks are to give advises to the manager on strategic issues in developing the organisation.
