David Bamford - Country Manager Chile

David Bamford taught Modern Languages (French and Spanish) in UK for 16 years. After six years at Sevenoaks School in Kent, four of them as Head of Modern Languages, he took up an appointment at Redland School in Santiago, Chile, where he worked, variously, as Assistant Head of the Senior and Middle Schools, Head of Middle School and International Baccalaureate Co-ordinator. After six years, he returned to UK for a short spell before accepting the Headship of St Paul's School, Viña del Mar, a post which he occupied for eight years. He resigned his Headship in 2001 in order to take up the newly created post of Executive Secretary to the Latin American Heads Conference, an association of Heads of schools throughout Latin America.

The beginning of MondoChallenge's activity in Chile coincided with David's taking on his new rôle. This involvement was a departure which he welcomed as a way of keeping in touch with socially useful activities in the educational sphere in his spare time.
