Teaching in Nepal

Our programme in Nepal currently offers volunteers the possibility to teach in two areas:

Living and working in Kathmandu is a fascinating experience! You will get the chance to be part of day to day life in this ancient and mystical city. You will be close to some of the worlds best treks, and the Kathmandu valley - with its wonderful historic towns and temples, is just on your doorstep!

Chaukot is a village situated twenty minutes away by foot from Dhulikhel (32kms away east of Kathmandu). All the villagers are farmers and every house either has buffaloes or cows for milk and fertiliser. With spectacular views of the mountains, it is a favourite start point for short treks.

We are working with indigenous people to help them promote their skills and knowledge. Our programmes are not linked with any religious or political movement.

No specific qualifications are needed except a good level of general education, an open-mind and lots of enthusiasm. Volunteers can work for various lengths of time and at various locations. We can generally arrange timetables to suite the skills of the volunteers and the needs of the school.

For further information, select one of our project locations listed on the right.
